Oxidative stress is the common thread linking most chronic disease. H₂ selectively neutralizes the most damaging free radicals (•OH and ONOO⁻) while leaving beneficial reactive oxygen species intact.

5. Molecular Hydrogen Regulates Gene Expression (NF-κB, Nrf2 pathways) (2016)  —  Shows H₂ works beyond direct scavenging — it modulates gene-level antioxidant defenses.

Among the most robust bodies of human evidence for H₂ water, with multiple RCTs.

3. HRW on Blood Lipid Profiles in Clinical Populations — Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis (2023)  —  Pharmaceuticals. 2023.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects approximately 25% of adults worldwide. Several RCTs and controlled trials show measurable improvements with hydrogen water.

3. Effects of Drinking HRW on Quality of Life in Patients Receiving Radiotherapy for Liver Tumors (2011)  —  Landmark clinical study in liver cancer radiotherapy patients. Foundational for oncology support research.

One of the most exciting emerging research areas. H₂ water appears to increase gut microbiome diversity and support beneficial bacterial populations.

3. Molecular Hydrogen in the Treatment of Acute and Chronic Neurological Conditions (2017)  —  Review covering TBI, stroke, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and peripheral neuropathy.

4. Hydrogen in Drinking Water Reduces Dopaminergic Neuronal Loss in Parkinson's Disease Mouse Model  —  PLOS ONE. Low H₂ concentrations (0.08 ppm) showed neuroprotective effects.

5. Redox Effects of Molecular Hydrogen and Therapeutic Efficacy in Neurodegenerative Diseases (2021)  —  Covers Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, neonatal brain disorders, retinal ischemia, and TBI.n

1. HRW Reduces Oxidative Stress & Disease Activity in Rheumatoid Arthritis — Open-Label Pilot Study (2012)  —  20 RA patients. 530 mL/day H₂ water. Significant reductions in urinary 8-OHdG (14.3%) and CRP.

2. Using Oral Molecular Hydrogen Supplements to Combat Microinflammation — Pilot Study (2024)  —  Int. J. Med. Sci. 2024. Anti-inflammatory effect on CRP concentrations across dosages in chronic disease patients, including RA metrics.

3. Molecular Hydrogen Reduces Oxidative Stress with Potential for Improvement of Mitochondrial Diseases  —  Covers inflammatory myopathies and conditions driven by mitochondrial oxidative stress.
